. . .the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us. . . (NKJV)
. . . and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and announce to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us. (NET)
. . . and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us. . . (NASB)
Think about the scriptural text you just read and take from it what the Lord wants to give you. Repeat the text to yourself. Memorize it. Allow it to sink into you.
Talk to the Lord about what you discovered during your time of reflection. Ask Him to reveal the true meaning of the scripture to you and how you can apply it to your life. Wait for and listen to His response to you.
Finally, simply rest in the Word of God and in His presence. Abide in the Lord and allow Him to abide in you by and through His Word.
