5-Minute Meditation on the Word of God

Read

Read the scripture 3 times out loud. Each time you read it, place emphasis on a different word.

  Psalm 119:16 (NKJV)

I will delight myself in Your statutes;

I will not forget Your word.

Reflect

Breathe in deeply. Breathe out slowly. Silently repeat the scripture 3 times in alignment with your breathing.

Respond

Respond to the Lord as the Holy Spirit leads you.

Rest

Finally, rest in the presence of the Lord. Abide in the Lord and allow Him to abide in you by and through His Word.

Heart-felt Delight

 

Read

And Your law is within my heart.

Delight yourself also in the LORD,

Re-read the text. Think about it for a few minutes. In what way or ways can you delight yourself in the LORD?

Respond to the Lord by asking Him to show you ways to delight yourself in Him.

Rest

Finally, simply rest in the Word of God and in His presence. Abide in the Lord and allow Him to abide in you by and through His Word.

True Delight

Read

  Psalms 1:1-2 (NKJV)

Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

and in His law he meditates day and night.

 Reflect
